The Medieval Ensemble of Molí de Blancafort, which has 2,000 m² of built area and 19,000 m² of land, is listed as an Architectural Heritage Site of Catalonia and a Cultural Asset of Local Interest. Located at the foot of the Congost river, where the old royal road from Barcelona to Vic used to pass, it is made up of several pieces that surround the old dryer, making it incredibly unique and constituting the most characteristic rural complex in the municipality: the 12th-13th century defence tower, covered by a pyramidal roof, the flour mill documented between the late 13th and early 14th century, the farmhouse, which dates from the 16th century, the new house, the oil press, the cellar and the chapel of the Mare de Déu dels Misteris, built later: during the 17th century.

The original farmhouse (16th century), of about 400 m² constructed, built of stone and situated at the foot of the watchtower, consists of a ground floor and a first floor, with a gabled roof. The entrance doorway has a semicircular arch with voussoir. Above there is an ogee-arched window (Gothic style) and the openings on the sides are square and stone-framed. It is an impressive space, steeped in history and offering endless possibilities for those who wish to make it their own and renovate it.

The 17th century farmhouse or new house of 500 m² constructed, which has been renovated and preserves the charm and aesthetics of the whole complex, consists of a ground floor and two floors and is located on the west façade of the original farmhouse. On the ground floor, as we enter, we find an enormous room of 60 m² which forms the central space and, on both sides of it, the different chambers are distributed: a games room, a wine cellar, a multi-purpose room, a toilet and the machine room. On the first floor, stairs give access to a large open space with an 8m high ceiling, where there is a magnificent dining room and a wonderful living room. On the same floor, the space opens up to the different rooms that compose it: the kitchen, a cosy reading room, a master suite, two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. On the third floor, there is an imposing room, today converted into an incredible library with two offices.

Connected by a porch and located to the east of the main building, there is the mill, which gives its name to the whole complex and stands out as the family emblem: a majestic mill wheel stands at the entrance. It is a mill made up of two stones, moved by the water of the river Congost, diverted through a 3-kilometre-long watercourse that runs through the entire municipality and is known as the Rec Monar. As we enter it, we find the stone room where all the original machinery is preserved, along with a room where there is a bread oven and a fireplace. On the upper floor, the miller's former home, there are several rooms that culminate in a splendid terrace, offering views of the entire estate and the surrounding environment.

The sensational wine cellar, which is located in front of the drying room, has two floors. On the upper floor there is a fantastic barn and the splendid oil press, which is still in perfect condition. On the lower floor, there is an exceptional wine cellar, worthy of the most imposing buildings of the period. In this space, there is also a huge covered barn, divided into two areas.

The beautiful chapel of the Mare de Déu dels Misteris, dating from 1674 and dedicated to the Mare de Déu del Roser, is located next to the irrigation channel and is also in good condition. It is characterised by a gabled Arab tile roof and a rectangular floor plan.

A generous vegetable garden welcomes us at the entrance, offering the possibility of having and enjoying first-hand fresh products.

All this constitutes El Molí de Blancafort, an exquisite and unique medieval historical ensemble that exudes history and charm in each of the pieces that embraces.

This marvellous jewel is located next to the C-17 motorway, at the northern end of the municipality of La Garriga, 40 km from Barcelona and 30 km from Vic, with all the services within reach and, surrounded at the same time, by a privileged environment, which allows you to enjoy, among other things, fantastic routes that connect with the adjacent municipalities and are suitable for the whole family.
